Dorothy Louise Blon 81 passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.  She was born in New Matamoras, Ohio on December 21, 1941, to Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Mildred (Hanlon) Pugh.  She was the eldest of five children, Shirley, Earl "Junior" (Patty), Diana (Thomas), and Leroy (Rose).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Pugh, Jr., and mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Blon.

Dorothy and her Husband Terance were Married May 6, 1957.  They have 2 children; Patricia Zetlaw and Terence (Rita) Blon Jr., four Grandchildren; Katie (Luke) Hatmaker, Lori (Miles) Starling, Joseph and Charles Blon, three great Grandchildren; Bennett and Hazel Hatmaker and Beau Starling, she will be remembered by her sisters Shirley Hartlieb, Diana (Thomas) Haapapuro, brother Leroy (Rose) Pugh, and sister-in-law Patty Pugh, her nephews Doug, Scott (Kari) Hartlieb, and R.J. Holmes, and other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Dorothy worked for over 30 years as a nursing assistant at Peterson Hospital in Wheeling, WV and East Ohio Regional Hospital.  She had a passion for patient care and was loved and respected by all who knew her.  She drew an inclusive circle that made room for others especially those who were left out or who were for one reason, or another did not fit in.  In the words of her husband Terance "She was the most loving and caring person I ever met."  Dorothy was an angel while she was with us and now, she is an angel with wings!

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 4-7 at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.  Funeral Service will be on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11 am at the funeral home.  Burial to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, with Rev. James Hoff officiating.
