Dorothy (Vich) Stankavich, 97, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville. She was born October 17, 1916 in Buffalo, NY a daughter of the late Mike and Anna (Merita) Vich. Dorothy retired as a department manager for the former Lerner's Clothing Store of Wheeling, WV. She was a member of the First U. Methodist Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Stankavich, her son, Anthony Stankavich, her grandson, Todd Stankavich, a sister Zora Poch, her brother Steve Vich and her niece Sandra Thiele. Surviving are her granddaughter, Carla (Steve) Ryder of Centreville, VA, her sister, Mildred Thiele of Springfield, OH, family members, Carol Spencer and Marcia Lynn Stankavich and four great grandchildren; Ashley Stankavich, Brittany Stankavich, Anthony Ryder, and Nickolas Ryder and a nephew John Poch. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 11 am until time of services at 1:00 pm at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating. Burial follows in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Blaine, OH.
