Dorothy E. McCurdy Wright, 89 of Sardis formerly of Bridgeport, died Saturday September 29, 2012 at her home. She was born October 31, 1922 in Riverview, Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Spence and Mary (Smith) McCurdy. Dorothy worked in retail most of her life retiring from the former Reichart's Furniture Store and Sears Dept. Store, she was also a member of the Ladies Aux. of the VFW # 9930 Sardis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband James Neel Wright, a son Neel E. Wright, a daughter Judy Kinnison, a brother William McCurdy, and her dog "Nicholas". Dorothy is survived by a daughter Janet Wright Lewis of Sardis, six grandchildren Tammy (Mark) Lednik, Tiffany (Dr. Matt) Tompkins, Trisha (Frank) Carrothers, Susan Reed, Nancy Wright, and James Neel Lewis, ten great grandchildren. Friends are invited to a celebration of Dorothy's life on Thursday October 4, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside.
