Dortha V. Baker, 85, of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care, Wheeling, WV. She was born February 28, 1929 in St. Clairsville, OH a daughter of the late James E. Baker, Sr. and Sarah L. (Parker) Baker Jewell. Dortha retired from Wheeling Hospital and attended the First Baptist Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father, Baird L. Jewell, her brothers, Edward J. Baker and James E. Baker, Jr. and a sister Martha L. Nay. Surviving are her daughter, Dotty (Terry Hartline) Baker of Martins Ferry, a brother, T. Russell (Katy) Baker of Ft. Myers, Fl, two grandchildren, Cavan (Katrina Betz) Hartline and David (Georgia Hanna) Baker, five great grandchildren with another on the way, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Larry Lewis officiating.
