E. Wayne "Ditty" Blake, 77, a lifetime resident of Belmont, Ohio died at his home, July 19, 2012. He was born November 8, 1934 in Belmont, Ohio, son of the late Evert and Gertrude Blake.
Wayne graduated from Belmont High School in 1952 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He retired as postmaster of the Belmont Post Office in 1975 and became a cattle broker, as the land and cattle were his passion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Graham.
He is survived by his wife, Delores "Dee" Blake; daughter, Dana (Andy) Mistak; beloved grandsons, Drew, Devon, and Trey Mistak, all of Belmont, Ohio; sisters, Rosalie Myers of Middletown, Ohio, Shirley (Glenn) Gatten of Liverpool, New York; Sandra Mann of Barnesville, Ohio; and Brenda (Tom) Freeman of Belmont, Ohio; brother, Rick (Chris) Blake of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews; loyal employee, Randy Butcher, and his beloved Schnauzer, Minnie.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
