Edgar L. Maurer 89 of Whitley St. Bridgeport died Friday July 30, 2010 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born April 4, 1921 in Wheeling a son of the late William and Mary Frances (Kelly) Maurer. He was a retired truck driver for J.E. Miller trucking, a Teamster Local #697, the retiree club, Eagles #995 and American Legion #227 both of Bridgeport, Bellaire DAV, Martins Ferry Elks, and a veteran of WW II in the US army.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Thomas Maurer, and a brother William J. Maurer.Edgar is survived by his wife of 63 years Betty L. (Byrd) Maurer, two daughters Marsha Lynn Rinkes (David) of St. Clairsville, and Lisa Gay Smith (Kevin) of Nashville Tn. Four grandchildren Scott Maurer (Lisa) Michelle Cucarese (Scott) Doug Rinkes and Hillary Smith, four great grandchildren.Friend will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside Sunday August 1, 2010 from 12 -3 and 6-8 where services will Monday at 11 am with Rev.
