Elaine McConnaughy, 80, of Martins Ferry, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1942, in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Nick and Helen (Oancea) Gramatikos. Elaine was Methodist by faith, was a member of the Child Study Club and was a former Girl and Boy Scout leader. She enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, fashion, festivals, was a sports enthusiast, also was an avid collector of antiques and all things kitsch. Elaine loved watching her house plants thrive, but her real passion was spending time with her family she loved and making the Holidays, especially Christmas a special time for her family and friends.

She is survived by four children, Brenda (Jonathan) Tyler, Karen McConnaughy, Roger McConnaughy Jr., and Jason McConnaughy; siblings, Betty (Jim) McFarland, Harriet Byard, Nick (Rose) Gramatikos, and Cindy Edwards; five grandchildren, Janaya McConnaughy, Kelley Dravenstott, Jillian McConnaughy, Alex Marling, and Josh Wiginton; three great grandchildren, Veronica, Colette, and Freddie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger McConnaughy Sr.

Friends may call Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 10 to 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. A memorial service will be held Thursday in the funeral home, with Reverend James Hoff officiating.
