Obituary

Elaine (Williamson) Pickens Moore, 89, of Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of Brownfield Rd., Pleasant Grove, OH, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born July 16, 1921, in Yorkville, OH, a daughter of the late Earl O. and Alice (Hooper) Williamson. She was retired from the Colerain IGA, Colerain, OH. Elaine was a devout Christian and a long time member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry and a member of the Colerain Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband William T. Pickens, her second husband Halford L. Moore, two brothers James R. Williamson and Keith Williamson, and a sister Vivian Battles. Surviving are three sons John W. (Gloria) Pickens of Cleveland, OH, Dr. Harold L. (Debbie) Pickens of Wheeling, WV, and Dr. Dale A. (Cheryl) Pickens of Fletcher, NC, a daughter Kathy Brokaw of Cornelius, NC, a step-daughter Darlene (Larry) Puckett of St. Clairsville, OH, her grandchildren Christopher and David Brokaw, Michelle Bolles, Jason Pickens, Aaron, Ryan, and Corey Pickens, Jeremy McClelland, Elizabeth Rowe, and Lisa Bishop, and six great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 12-3 & 5-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 at 11:30 am at the First Christian Church with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Scotch Ridge Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
