Eleanor I. Barney Eleanor I. Barney, 73, of N. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sun., June 23, 2002 at home. She was born Nov. 14, 1928 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Eugene O. and Nellie L. Gundling Barney, Sr. She was retired as the switchboard operator for the former Stone & Thomas Dept. Store of Wheeling, a member of the Friday Night Classics Women's Bowling League of Park Legion Lanes and Eagle Aerie #456 Auxiliary both of Martins Ferry, and was a Baptist. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Eugene O. Barney and two sisters Betty Cecconi and Jean Barney. Surviving are two nephews Robert Cecconi and his wife Tracy of Bethlehem and Gene Barney of Pittsburgh, and a sister-in-law Joan Barney of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received Tue. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., June 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
