ELIZABETH JANE LONG, 88, of Martins Ferry, died Saturday February 28, 2009 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va. She was born January 11, 1921, in Waynesburg, PA., the daughter of the late James and Jesse (Ullom) Buchanan. Elizabeth was a retired cook at the Oakview Nursing Home, St. Clairsville and was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Steubenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Eugene Long; four brothers: Emerson, Halbert, James and Franklin Buchanan; three sisters: Ida Wilson, Rosetta Schneider and Bernice Fosson. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Robert Long Jr. of Cleveland, TN., two daughters: Kathy Bruno and her husband Steve of Cleveland, TN., and Karen Volan and her husband Paul of Martins Ferry; a sister, Alma Lemal and her husband Dick of Martins Ferry; as well as seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held Friday March 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverends John Kotsanos and Terry Endsley, officiating.
