Ella A. Boehm, 96, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her home. She was born Jan. 10, 1917 in Wilhelmsthal, Germany, a daughter of the late John and Katherine (Steininger) Weiss. Ella was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Boehm, a granddaughter Jeannie Splenda, four brothers; Max, Arnold, Oswald and Christian and a sister Hilda. Surviving are her two sons; Albert J. (Patti) Boehm of Martins Ferry and Mark H. (Kathy) Boehm of Wheeling, WV, two daughters; Rose Friton of Cross Jct., VA and Mary Ann Boehm of Stephens City, VA, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows at St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Friday at 3:45 pm followed by Wake services at 7:30 pm both in the funeral home.
