Ellen E. Morris, 70, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born October 29, 1943 in Byesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Chester Cumberlidge and Marie Hupp Cumberlidge. Ellen was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all that knew her. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She had worked as a former Ohio Bell Telephone Operator. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ellen is survived by her husband of 43 years, whom she married July 10, 1971, Jerry L. Morris of Barnesville, Ohio; daughters, Lavonne Meyer of Bethesda, Ohio, Michele (Chuck) Hamilton of Woodsfield, Ohio, Melanie (Stephen) Carpenter of Malaga, Ohio; grandchildren, Isaiah, Caleb, Nathan, Jared, Lauren, Morgan, Craig, Suzanne, and Nettie; sister, Betty (Dick) Thompson of New Philadelphia, Ohio; brother, Bill Cumberlidge of Henderson, Nevada; and many other family members including a very special aunt, Georgia Cumberlidge. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, beginning at 11 a.m., Ebenezer Baptist Church, 309 Oak Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Brian Bee officiating.
