Ellen Raies Wakulchik 84, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed away on Friday morning, February 24, 2017 at Liza's place. She was born on March 4, 1932 in Bridgeport, Ohio to the late Habeeb and Zaney (Faris) Raies. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her spouse John Wakulchik, five sisters: Mary Chambliss, Alice Richards, Esther Shelley, Evelyn Tuttle, and Sally West, and four brothers: Louis Raies, Abraham Shamis, Mitchell Raies and James Raies. Ellen is survived by three children, daughter Sally Ritz (Mark), sons John Wakulchik Jr. and Phillip Wakulchik, grandchildren, Matthew Ritz (Amanda), Lauren Wakulchik, Hannah Wakulchik, and Adam Wakulchik, many nieces and nephews, and other family. Ellen was born in Bridgeport, Ohio on March 4, 1932. She lived in Bridgeport until 3 years ago, when she moved to the Country Club Retirement Campus in Bellaire, Ohio. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1949. She worked at the McCrory Store and Bridgeport Schools for many years and, and was a long-time member of the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Evergreen Support Group. Ellen was known for her kindness and the way that she treated everyone. She opened her home and her heart to everyone that she encountered, touched many lives, and will be missed by all. Friends will be received from Tuesday, February 28 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Wilson's Funeral, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1, at 11a.m. with The Rev. David Demerest officiating. Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
