Eloise S. (Strickland) Johnson, 75, of N. 9th. St., Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Apr. 6, 1934 in Birmingham, AL a daughter of the late Mace Strickland and Elizabeth (Falconer) Reynolds. She was retired from the Bellaire City Hospital, Bellaire, OH. Eloise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellaire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Fredrick Strickland. Surviving are her husband Leroy Johnson, eight children Gregory (Michelle) Smith of Toledo, OH, Carlton Smith of Bridgeport, OH, Vicky (Michael) Crawford of Staunton, VA, Renea Whetstone of Bellaire, Clarence Whetstone of Wheeling, WV, Miles Smith, of Shadyside, OH, Cynthia (Keith) Brown of St. Clairsville, OH, and Anita Louise Johnson of Columbus, OH, a brother Lee C. (Magalene) Howze of NC, two sisters Annabella and Adah Sanders both of Gary, IN, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Eloise also leaves a host of friends from Staunton, VA. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Shiloh Temple Church, Bridgeport, OH with Elder James M. Agnew, III officiating.
