Elrita C. (Hornick) McAvoy, 72 of Belmont Manor, St. Clairsville, formerly of Wellsburg, WV passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024. She was born January 13, 1952, the daughter of the late George W. Hornick and Doris E. (Davis) Hornick.

Elrita was Catholic by faith and lived life to the fullest. She was a homemaker and cared for her two sons. She enjoyed reading and loved all types of flowers.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother Doris E. (Davis) Hornick, and son, James Nichols of this year, her brothers, Ricky, and Larry Hornick.

Left to cherish her memory are her only son Joey McAvoy, and siblings, Diana (Ron) Diprosperis, Bruce Hornick, Michael (Jenny) Hornick, Patricia (James) Smith and special friend, Linda.

The family wishes to extend a special "Thank – You," to the staff of Belmont Manor for the care and love they showed Elrita.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation and all services will be held at the convenience of the family.
