Elsie V. Duncan Elsie V. Saunders Duncan, 94, of Newell, WV, formerly a life long resident of Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Feb. 3, 2003 at Weirton Geriatric Center, Weirton, WV. She was born Sept. 7, 1908 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late William H. and Mary P. Ellks Saunders. She was a member of the First U. Methodist Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry F. Duncan, a brother William W. Saunders, and four sisters Louise Heslop, Edna Smith, Wilma Baker, and Emily Saunders. Surviving are two daughters Kay L. (Dorhman) Boyles of Newell, WV and Wendy (Alan) Speece of Harrisonburg, VA., four grandchildren Mark (Kathy) Deitch of Virginia Beach, VA, Gary Deitch of East Liverpool, OH, and Lorna and Erin Speece both of Harrisonburg, VA, and two great grandchildren Kara and Eric Deitch. Friends will be received Wed. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thur., Feb. 6, 2003 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
