Emil J. Halloy, 92, of Wolfhurst, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016, in Pataskala, OH, with several of his loving family members at his side. He was born on November 15, 1923, a son of the late Angelina and Joseph Halloy. In addition to his parents, Emil was preceded in death by the one and only love of his life, his wife, Rose, and sisters, Amelia Robinson and Eloise Nagy, and brother, Joseph Halloy. Emil was a retired general foreman of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corp. (Martins Ferry). He was universally known as a no-nonsense yet fair leader. He was a proud veteran of World War II in the United States Navy, and always flew the Stars And Stripes from the porch of his home which he rebuilt single-handedly and ultimately produced countless wonderful memories for his seemingly always-growing family. Indeed, Emil was known for his tireless work ethic. A long day at the mill was often followed by hours in his basement working on various home improvement projects, or offering his self-taught skills to neighbors in need. He could build or repair anything he set his mind to. He also volunteered as a Boy Scout leader and offered his time with numerous St. Joseph Church and School fundraisers and other projects. Emil was a member of the Lansing Sportsmans Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8848.
