Emma Elizabeth Grelles, 87, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Bridgeport, passed Saturday August 15, 2015 at Belmont Manor, St. Clairsville, Ohio. She was born in Pottsville, PA., on October 26, 1927, a daughter of the late John George Riba and Anna Fitzek Riba. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband Emmanuel J. "Mike" Grelles. Emma is survived by a son: Michael E. (Marcia) Grelles of Sun City Center, FL.; a brother Frank (Ann) Riba of Bridgeport; sisters: Helen Gossett of Wheeling; Paula Armstrong of Martins Ferry; Mary Hadzima of Bridgeport; Betty (Raymond) Toone of Chase City, VA.; Dorothy (Wayne) Schrader of Marana, AZ., Sherian (Joseph) Banco of St. Clairsville; Grandchildren: Kelly Michelle Grelles of St. Charles, MO; and Nicole Anne Grelles of St. Peters, MO. Emma was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst; CWC; St. Joseph Social Committee; very active in the Democratic Party; Bowls at the "Friendly League"; Instrumental in the building of St. Joseph Grade School and Mother Cabrini Church, Colerain; Founder of the Girl Scouts in Bridgeport, Cub Scout Den Mother; and a retired employee of Ohio Bell. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., with a vigil service at 4:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, with Fr. John Mucha as celebrant.
