SNEDDON, Emma Bernice (Norman), 93, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Blaine, Ohio, passed Easter Sunday April 8, 2012 at Forest Hills Retirement Community, St. Clairsville. She was born in Blaine on March 31, 1919, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ina Belle Wilson Norman. Emma was an Elementary Teacher with the Zanesville, Ohio and Shadyside, Ohio School Systems, a member of the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, Blaine, a graduate of Bridgeport High School and Muskingum College, an Eastern Star member, a member of Ohio State Teachers Retirement System and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association; and a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran WAVE. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Sneddon, and a brother Earl W. Norman. Emma is survived by a son Walter Sneddon of Columbus, Ohio, a daughter Bonnie (Dick) Rinkes of St. Clairsville; nephews: Earl J. Norman of Fairborn, Ohio and Dennis R. Norman (Susan) of Haines City, Fla., three great-nieces and one great-great niece; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio where services will be held Thursday April 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Rothermund Jr., officiating. Eastern Star services Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard, on Thursday at 10:45 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
