Zerla, Emma Marie (Caresani) 90, of Dillonvale, died Sunday April 21, 2013 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. She was born August 2, 1922 in Coalport, Pa., a daughter of the late August Caresani and Fortunata (Farina) Caresani Widman. She was a member of St Adalberts Catholic Church Dillonvale, the Rosary Society, the Catholic Women's club of the Church, and was a recipient of the Fidelis Award. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband James J. Zerla in 1989, two brothers John and August Caresani, and two sisters Mary Caresani, and Elizabeth Vota. Emma is survived by two daughters Joann (Robert) Gottke of Columbus, and Christine (Ronald) Sass of St. Clairsville, three grandchildren Jill M.Gottke, Matthew J. Gottke, and Ronald M. Sass. Friends are invited to a celebration of Emma's life on Friday April 26, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church Dillonvale. Entombment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
