Obituary

Emmett Richard Neuhart, 91, of Bethesda, Ohio, died Friday, December 23, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital. Born November 15, 1925 in Belmont, Ohio, he was the son of the late Emmett Neuhart and Agnes Kinney Neuhart. A lifelong member of Belmont United Methodist Church, Emmett was past president of Bethesda-Belmont Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, past president of Union Local School Board, and principal of Morristown school. He taught at Bellville, Morristown, and Barnesville schools and was founder and owner of Neuhart Aluminum. Serving his country in the United States Army, he fought in World War II in the 65th Infantry Division under General George Patton's Third Army and was awarded The Bronze Star for action in combat. He also served in General Mark Clark's Headquarters Staff, after the war in Vienna, Austria and was personally awarded the Army Medal of Commendation by General Clark. He was a member of the Hazen Lodge #25, 32nd Degree Mason of Cambridge, Past Commander of Belmont American Legion Post #312, life member of WBCCI, and Past President of Land of Lakes of Ohio Air Stream. He and his wife, Esther, enjoyed camping and traveled across the United States in their Air Stream motor home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Diane Louise; Edith Kinney Barnett, who he raised as a sister; and sister, Betty Kalor. Emmett is survived by his wife of 69 years, Esther Bond Neuhart of Bethesda, Ohio: daughter, Valerie Neuhart of Crystal Lake, Illinois; son, John R. (Sarah) Neuhart of Avon, Indiana; grandchildren, Rich and Audrey Mena, Heidi and Micaela Neuhart, Josh (Megan) Neuhart; great-grandsons, Gideon and Ellis Neuhart. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Tuesday from 3-8 p.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Reverend Theresa Bobot and Pastor Dan Purdom officiating. Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio, where Military Honors will be presented by Belmont County Veterans' Association. Interment

Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio, where Military Honors will be presented by Belmont County Veterans' Association.
