Ernest Cika Ernest Cika, 83, formerly of N. 9th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Jan. 14, 2002 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born May 18, 1918 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John and Emerencia (Kadi) Cika, Sr. He was retired from the Yorkville plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, was a veteran of the U.S. Army WW II, and was past commander of V.F.W. Post #3613 of Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Alice (Geis) Cika, a daughter Alice Jean Cika, two brothers Frank P. and John E. Cika, and two sisters Elaine Vargo and Emma Koontz. Surviving are two sons Ernest A. Cika and his wife Sally of Cary, NC and Ned W. Cika and his wife Kathy of Lockbourne, OH, a daughter Marjorie Gibson and her husband Robert of Dale City, VA, four sisters Ethel J. McDiffitt of Martins Ferry, Erma Best of Indianapolis, IN, Edna Kenzora and her husband Leo of Cleveland, and Irene Dobbs of Las Vegas, NV, and two grandchildren Darcie and Carly Gibson. Friends will be received Wed. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thur. at 1:00 PM with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with full military graveside honors by the Belmont Co. Council of the VFW.
