Ernest J. "Ernie" Dull, 90, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born March 16, 1926 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Steve M. and Julia (Margli) Dull. Ernie retired from Valley Camp Coal Co. Office of Triadelphia, WV. He was a member of American Legion Post #38, Bellaire D.A.V. #117, V.F.W. Post #8848, Military Order of Purple Heart, Hungarian American Cultural Society and Ohio River Valley Elks #231. Ernie was also a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local #142. He played the trombone with the former Greater Wheeling Concert Band. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gizella Brown, Elizabeth Gocsik, Nancy Bowen and Kathleen Beavon and a brother, Joseph Dull. Surviving are his wife, Cleo R. (Sommer) Dull, his daughter, Debbie Duff of Columbus, OH and grandchildren, Meryl Duff of New York, NY and Justin Duff of Columbus, OH. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Sunday 12-3 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Rod Kasler officiating.
