Ernest L. Ward, Sr. Ernest L. Ward, Sr., 70, of Washington St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., July 6, 2002 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born Sept. 17, 1931 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Ora and Gladys (Nelson) Ward. He was a retired employee for the Martins Ferry City School District. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine J. (McLean) Ward, a daughter Joann Ward, a brother George Ward and a sister Freda Klika. Surviving are two sons Ernie L. Ward, Jr. and his wife Tammy and Mark Ward and his wife Edith all of Martins Ferry; three daughters Debbie Milbert and her husband Earl of Freeport, OH, Diane Proctor and her husband David of Martins Ferry, and Susan Ward of Lisbon, NY; a sister Martha Andrews of Triadelphia, WV; a brother Bob Gray of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren Jacob and Ernie Ward, Tysa Wise, David, Michael, Chad, Chris, Alyssa, and Coby Proctor and two great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tues. 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., July 10, 2002 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Roland Boggs officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
