Etta L. (Harding) Helms, 84, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, December 31, 2010 at home. She was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Walter R. and Elizabeth L. (Woods) Harding. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Willard, Paul, Walter, Lawrence, Sherwood, Oliver, Leroy and Frank Harding, five sisters, Margaret McLoud, Mildred Lyle, Elizabeth Ghent, Gertrude Moore and Helen Briggs. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Arguell "Mutt" Helms, two daughters, Mary Liz (Gary) Conaway and Judy Jackson all of Martins Ferry and a son, Roger (Maria) Helms of Cusseta, GA, a sister Betty J. Tracy of Martins Ferry, five grandchildren Cindy (Wally) Chlon, Jason (Jackie) Jackson, Dayn (Stacey) Jackson, Steven Post and Aaron (Kayla) Helms, six great grandchildren, Adam Tychonski, Andrew Chlon, Rachel Jackson, Logan Jackson, Emmett Post and Mackenzie Jackson. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Monday 4 - 8 pm and Tuesday, Jan 4, 2011, 10 am until time of services at 11:00 am with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
