Eugene Kirke "Chub" Walker, 88, of Colerain, OH died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born Mar. 13, 1919 in Colerain the son of the late Herbert D. and Norma H. (Kirke) Walker. He was a retired dairy farmer and the former owner/operator of Walker's Ice Cream Store of Colerain. Gene was a deacon and elder of the Colerain Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau, Ruritan Club, and the Grange all of Colerain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Martha Walker, and two sisters Sarah Lee Porterfield and Virginia Dunfee. Surviving are his wife of 62 years Margaret (Coffield) Walker, three sons Randy (Peggy) Walker of Colerain, Douglas (Carolee) Walker of Winesburg, OH, and Dale (Verginia) Walker of Bowling Green, OH, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Friends will then be received Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 from 10am until time of services at 11:00 am at the Colerain Presbyterian Church with Revs. Brian N. Walker and John A. Brown officiating.
