Lt. Col. Evaline May Absalom (USAF- Ret.), of Martins Ferry, OH, died June 24, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born at Ferry View, Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Larkin) Absalom. Lt. Col. Absalom retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of active duty, which included service in World War II and the Korean War. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, Beta Sigma Phi, Air Force Women Officers Associated and the Retired Officers Association. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth and Catherine Absalom, and six brothers Edmund (Ned), Carl T., Harry, Thomas, Walter, and David V. Absalom. Surviving are her sister Lt. Col. Anna Margaret McKim (USAF-Ret.) of Ferry View and several nieces and nephews. Private services were held at the convenience of the family with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial followed at Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry.
