Evelyn Marie, (Martin) Barritt, 84, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed Saturday January 4, 2014 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born in Wheeling on November 17, 1929, a daughter of the late William J. and Ula Thomas Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Richard L. Barritt and brothers Kenneth, Irvin and Earl Martin. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Herbert Barritt; daughters: Patricia (Charles) Morrisey of Grove City, Ohio and Carol (Gerald) Smith of Park City, UT.,, a son David (Lorrie) Barritt of Martins Ferry; a sister Margie (Fred) Capel of Salem, Ohio, brother Oliver (Judy) Martin of TX., four grandchildren: Daniel Harrigan, Jason Harrigan, Jacob Barritt, Alyssa Barritt; and two great-grandchildren: Danny Harrigan, Daisy Harrigan. Evelyn was a very active member of the Community of Christ Church, Wheeling Island. Friends will be received Monday 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held Tuesday January 7, 2014, at 11:00am.
