Evelyn L. Carter, 85, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio and most recently of Bethesda, Ohio died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born August 23, 1927 in Morristown, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank C. Van Horn and Ida M. Skaggs Van Horn. She had been employed with the Lazarus Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Carter; grandson, David Carter; brothers, Thomas M. and Louis R. Van Horn; and sister, Wilma Jean Kemp. Evelyn is survived by her son, Jack (Bobbie) Carter of Baltimore, Ohio; brothers, Harry W. Van Horn and Donald W. (Cheryl) Van Horn all of Barnesville, Ohio; grandson, Robert (Gwenna) Carter; four granddaughters, several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marge Milatovich. Friends may visit, Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Brian Bee will be officiating.
