Evelyn Marie Speece, 94, of Rockville, Maryland, and formerly of Martins Ferry and St. Clairsville, OH died on December 22, 2017, with her loving daughter by her side.

Mrs. Speece was born in Bellaire, OH. She was the daughter of Louis and Bessie Zastudil Paul. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martins Ferry and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Speece was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Speece was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John William (Bill) Speece and her sister, Ellen Conroy. Mrs. Speece is survived by her son, Alan (Wendy) Speece of Penn Laird, VA., two daughters, Karen Kafka of Gaithersburg, MD, and Pamela (Daniel) Maxwell of Palm Coast, FL, eight grandchildren, Andrea Kafka, Matt Maxwell, Sarah (Steven) Broadwater, Lorna Speece, Justin (Austin) Kafka, Lindsay (Michael) Jewell, Erin Speece, and Mark Maxwell, and three great grandchildren, Emmy, Declan & William Jewell.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Speece's name to the First United Methodist Church of Martins Ferry.
