Obituary

Faye Luella Heaney Kemp, 91, of Bethesda, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born September 29, 1921 in Mt. Olivett, Ohio, daughter of the late Cecil Heaney and Clara Van Scyoc Heaney. Faye was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Weyer Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Faye worked at the Children's Home in Tacoma. She had also worked as a secretary at Blaw Knox and as a phone operator for Ohio Bell. Faye's greatest passion for many years, was working alongside her husband, Starling, as co-owner of Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Starling Paul Kemp; brothers, William (Billy) and Bernard Heaney; sister, Margery Smith; and two granddaughters. Faye s survived by daughters, Sandra (Dan) Mumma of Barnesville, Ohio and Susan (Michael) Duffy of Summerville, South Carolina; sons, Gary (Robyn) Kemp of Marysville, Ohio and Douglas (Dolores) Kemp of Leesburg, Virginia; ten grandchildren, Jason (Billie) and Benjamin Mumma, Angie (Gregory) Weber, Krista (Nicholas) Vernon, Dena Sampson and fiance Brad, Amy (James) Kerker, Leslie (Keith) Lefeld, Eric (Britney) Kemp, Aaron (Emily) Kemp, and Jocelyn (James) Lambuth; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernadine (Louis) Dietrich of Tacoma, Ohio and Mary Heaney Shade of Vero Beach, Florida; brother-in-law, Hilles (Rosalene) Kemp; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special to Faye, Joel Braido. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Saturday at 1 p.m. Reverend Tom Detling will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Lucas Kerker, Faye's great-grandson.
