Florence S. Hill Florence S. "Sue" Pierce Hill, 79, formerly of Virginia St., Martins Ferry, died Wed., May 14, 2003 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV. She was born Aug. 23, 1923 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Josephine G. "Sis" Worley Chunko and Ralph Pierce. She was retired from the former Stone & Thomas Department Store, Wheeling, WV, a member of the First Christian Church, and a charter member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Auxiliary both of Martins Ferry, and a member of Bridgeport Chapter #452 Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward V. Hill. Surviving are two sons Edward L. Hill and his wife Karen of Wintersville and James A. Hill and his wife Debbie of Martins Ferry, five grandchildren Cammy S. Palmer, Edward A. Hill, Daniel S. Hill, James L. Hill and his wife Mary, and Heidi Thomas and her husband Brian, six great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Friends will be received Thur. 7-9 PM and Fri. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Sat., May 17, 2003 at 1:00 PM with Minister Terry Erwin officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Auxiliary will hold services Fri. at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont Co. Animal Rescue League.
