Floyd Kappler, 84, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday May 25, 2013 at Peterson Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on April 1, 1929, a son of the late Charles Frederick and Ethel Bolen Kappler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Randall Lawrence Kappler. He was a retired employee of Blaw Knox; a member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church where he also served as trustee; Wheeling Lodge #5; 33 degree Mason; Wheeling Scottish Rite Temple; Osiris Shrine and Shrine Clown; and the former past president Island Seniors. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Captolia Kappler; sons: Barry Lee Kappler of Wheeling, and Brian (Darcy) Kappler of Westerville, Ohio; daughter-in-law Bonnie Kappler; a brother Jan D. Kappler of Jacobsburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and friends of 82 years Herbert and Evelyn Barritt. Friends will be received Tuesday May 28, 2013 from 2pm until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, Bennett Street, Bridgeport, Ohio, with services by Rev. David Demarest. Memorial contributions may be made to Kirkwood Presbyterian Church. The family is being assisted by Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio.
