Obituary

Floyd A. Trouten Jr. 80 of Brookside died Monday April 27, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 12, 1934 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Floyd A Sr. and Della A. (Funari) Trouten. He was a retired employee of the Ormet Corporation, a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Bridgeport, a graduate of Linsly Military Academy Wheeling in 1952 where he excelled in football, and received a scholarship to play football at the University of Alabama. He loved serving the Church and was a volunteer at the Bridgeport food pantry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Trouten, a sister Deborah Novak, and a granddaughter Stephanie Trouten. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Marge (Gonot) Trouten, five sons Floyd A. (Christine) Trouten of Strongsville, OH, George (Dawn) Trouten, and Patrick (Cathy) both of Wheeling, Michael (Susanne) Trouten of Twinsburg, OH, and Christopher Trouten of North Royalton, OH, a brother Basil (Hilda) Trouten, three sisters Della (Sam) Lofton, Mary (Dell) Lauderdale, and Linda (Paul) Frates, a sister-in-law Janice Trouten, and a brother-in-law Jim Novak, thirteen grandchildren Elizabeth (Arthur) Volpe, Alexander, Gabrielle, Jessica, Allison, Patrick, Michael, Olivia, Mallory, Colin, Grace, Tessa, and Christopher Trouten. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Thursday April 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with wake service to be recited at 2 pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church Bridgeport with Fr. John Mucha as celebrant, interment in Linwood Cemetery Blaine.
