Obituary

FLOYD "Buster" "Cadillac" WILSON, 78, of Martins Ferry, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born June 13, 1930 in Wheeling, the son of the late Floyd and Eva (Reed) Wilson. Floyd retired from the Community Action Commission in Belmont County. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Blessed Martin High School in Wheeling. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WW II and a member of the Wheeling American Legion. He spent 13 years as a member of the Stuttgart Military Honor Post in Stuttgart, Germany. During this time he received the Occupational Medal and attained Expert Sharpshooter status with the M1 and Carbine rifles as well as pistols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Grandmother Annie Reed and Aunt Wilma Reed. Floyd is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cora Wilson of Martins Ferry; three daughters Diane Bowie, Christine Wilson and Cynthia Hilson all of Martins Ferry; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two cousins Arnetta Smith and George Saunders both of Toledo. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Full military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion.
