Reverend Bernard A. Krajcovic, a retired priest and a member of the presbyterate of the Diocese of Steubenville, passed away today October 14, 2015 at St. Joseph Care Center, Louisville, Ohio. He was 85 years old. A son of the late Peter and Anne (Sutak) Krajcovic Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers John, James, Paul, and Jerome Krajcovic, a sister Bernadette Krajcovic. Father Krajcovic will be waked at St. Lucy Church, Yorkville beginning at 3:30pm on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Visitation will take place until 7:00pm. A Vigil service will be held at 6:30pm. His body will lie in state at the church from 11:30am until the Funeral Liturgy with Mass on Monday, October 19 at 1:00pm presided over by Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton. Msgr. George Coyne will be the homilist. Father Bernie will be buried in the family plot at Union Cemetery, Toronto, Ohio. Father Krajcovic was born on July 19, 1930 in Empire, Ohio. He attended St. John Vianney Seminary, Bloomingdale, St. Gregory Seminary, Cincinnati, Mt. St. Mary's, Norwood, and St. Francis Seminary, Loretto, Pennsylvania. He was ordained by Bishop John King Mussio on May 26, 1956 at Holy Name Cathedral, Steubenville. Father Krajcovic's first assignment was as a full time instructor at St. John Vianney Seminary, Bloomingdale. He ministered at Holy Name Cathedral and St. Stanislaus Church in Steubenville, St. Joseph Church, Ironton, St. John Church, Miltonsburg and Ozark Mission, and St. Agnes Church, Mingo Junction. He was a part-time instructor at Catholic Central High School, Steubenville. He was pastor at St. Mary Church Morges, Ohio. He was pastor of St. Andrew Church, Nelsonville, Sacred Heart Church, Pomeroy, St. Adalbert Church, Dillonvale, St. Michael Church, Bellaire. In March, 1982 he was named pastor of St. Lucy Church, Yorkville from which he retired on August 31, 2001. Over the years Father Bernie served as a Chaplain to the Boy Scouts of Gallia and Lawrence Counties and was Deanery Director of the Nativity Deanery CWC. Fr. Bernie is survived by two brothers Peter (Carolyn) Krajcovic Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael Krajcovic of E. Canton, two sisters Patricia (Larry) Barrick of E. Canton, and Mary Ann (Kenneth) LeMasters of Massillon, also several nieces and nephews. The family of Fr.
