Obituary

Frances M. Josefczyk, 87, of Massillon, OH, passed away April 12, 2017 at Laurels of Massillon. She was born July 24, 1929, in Moundsville, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Lepko) Bodnar. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton, OH. Frances was a former member of St. Stanislas Catholic Church in Maynard where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Club. She was a sexton for the St. Elizabeth Mission in Crescent, OH where she also served as a choir member. She was also a member of the PNA lodge in Maynard, OH and the Colerain VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she would make quilts for their annual card party. Frances was an avid crocheter and taught her daughter-in-law and granddaughter how to crochet, along with making doll clothes and blankets for her granddaughter. She was a polka enthusiast, attending many dances. She was proud of her polish heritage, sending her children to Polish School to learn their culture; and making kielbasa and pierogis annually, passing the tradition along to her children. She was also an avid baseball fan. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 2007; brothers, Frank and Ben; and sister, Betty Ducker. She is survived by her children; Linda Josefczyk of Massillon, Stan (Lori) Josefczyk Jr. of Navarre, OH, Gary Josefczyk of Coquitlam, British Columbia, John (Karen) Josefczyk of St. Clairsville, OH; siblings, Mary Ann Kominsky of Blaine, OH, Josephine Miller of Lansing, Sister-in-laws, Anita Bodnar of Bridgeport, Dorothy Bodnar of Blaine, Jennie Hritz of Pleasant Grove; grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Marino, Amber (Bo) Brandon, Maegan Turenne, Joshua Josefczyk and his fiancAC.e Erin McCray, Georgia Josefczyk, Zac Josefczyk; great-grandson, Erian McCray; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday, April 17, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH 43912. PNA service at 3pm. Wake services as 4pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday at 10AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, OH with Fr. Tom Chillog serving as celebrant. in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, St. Michael's Church in Canton, OH or Laurel's activity department.
