Frances Elizabeth Thompson-Wilkinson, the daughter of the late George Edward and Nellie Mae Harris-Thompson, was born October 12, 1920 in Smithfield, OH. Frances departed this life on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the age of 96. On June 27, 1941 Frances was united in holy matrimony to Morris Thomas Wilkinson. They were married for 53 years until his passing in 1995. Frances was a devoted wife and loving mother. She leaves to cherish and remember her life: son, Kenneth; daughter, Beverly (Leon) Terry; sister, Catherine Toney; ten grandchildren, three great grandsons, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents: George and Nellie; brother Charles Edward; sister, Bessie Mae; infant daughter, Myrna; son, Wayne, and husband, Thomas. Frances loved the Lord and faithfully served her church for many years as a pianist, deaconess and trustee. She was a dedicated volunteer at the East Ohio Regional Hospital for over 25 years, a member of many community organizations such as the Mt. Pleasant Historical Society, Mt. Pleasant Fireman's Auxiliary, Belmont County Committee on Aging, Belmont County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and RSVP Literacy Council. Friends will be received Saturday, February 18 from 10a.m. until time of service at noon at Wilson Funeral Home 154 2nd St. Dillonvale, OH. The Reverend Mary Ann Smith officiating.
