Frank A. Holzopfel, Sr., 77, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Liza's Place Valley Hospice South, Wheeling, WV. He was born September 15, 1942 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Frank M. and Theresa (Nardone) Holzopfel.

Frank was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a Catholic by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores H. (Tyburski) Holzopfel and his son, Frank A. Holzopfel, Jr.

Surviving are his children: Mark J. Holzopfel of Colerain, OH and Lisa A. Arnold of Martins Ferry, his sister, Jeanne (Bob) Simpson of Wintersville, OH, his brother, Ronald (Jean) Holzopfel of Martins Ferry, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his companion Eileen Rice of Martins Ferry.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, January14, 2020 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Online condolences may be expressed at www.heslop.com.
