Frank Kovas Frank Kovas, 79, of S. Third St., Martins Ferry, OH formerly of Glen's Run Rd. died Fri., Nov. 14, 2003 at home. He was born Dec. 10, 1923 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Gus J. and Effrosini Stavros Kovas. He was a retired truck driver for the former Eclipse Motor Lines, Bridgeport, a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain, Eagles Lodge Aerie # 995, Bridgeport, a life member of the V.F.W. Post #4811, Yorkville, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy WWII . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John Kovas, and five sisters Irene Glaros, Thelma Kritios, Mary Sanas, Theresa Kantakis and Virginia Dayton. Surviving are four sons F. Ralph Kovas of Marysville ,OH, Dino Kovas and his wife Kelly of CA, Brent Kovas of Bridgeport, Brian Kovas of Flushing, three daughters Sue Beightler and her husband Joseph of Marysville, OH, Tina Kovas of Dearborn, MI and Sini Kovas of Bridgeport, a close companion Libby Wheeler, a sister Katherine Kovas of Warren, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Friends will be received Mon 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Tues. Nov. 18, 2003 at 1:30 PM at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain, Martins Ferry with Fr. Menelaos Papageorgiou officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH with full military graveside services by the Belmont County Council of V.F.W. Trisagion Services will be held Mon. at 4:00 PM at the home.
