Frank J. Pempek, 91, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, OH. He was born July 15, 1924 in Provident, OH a son of the late John and Anna (Glista) Pempek. Frank retired from the Yorkville Plant Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; John, Andy, Joe, and Stanley Pempek and sisters; Rose Pollock, Mary Eureka, Bertha Klinkowski, Nellie Schott and Sophia Pempek. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Stella W. (Drap) Pempek, son, Frank A. (Bernie) Pempek of Bridgeport, OH and daughter, Sharon K. (Robert) Sluka of Edgewood, KY, sister, Helen Kissela of Venice, FL, grandchildren; Jamie Vanwunnik, Meghan Sluka and Kaitlyn Sluka, and a great granddaughter, Lauren Vanwunnik. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Monday 5 - 8 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Wake Services will be held Monday at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 20 N.
