Frank P. Preslin, 93, of Martins Ferry passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Belmont Manor surrounded by his family. He was born on June 28, 1932, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late Anthony J. and Mary (Roscoe) Preslin.
Frank was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant, a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War, a member of the American Legion, Post #38, V.F. W. Post #15036 the former Eagles Aerie #456 of Martins Ferry, a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, and a proud graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School. He was a big Notre Dame fan and actually loved all sports. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and singing, but his greatest joy was being with his family. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty (Treylinek) Preslin in November 2024, son-in-law, Albert Benczo, sisters, Ann Slivinski, Mary C. Hildebrand, Agnes Kenzora
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sue (Dean) Miller of St. Clairsville, Linda Benczo, of St. Clairsville, Diane (Craig) Dolfi of Dillonvale, Michael (Connie) Preslin of Shadyside and Theresa (James) Kuhn of Adena, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 3 -7pm at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935. Military Honors will be Thursday, at the funeral home at 3:30pm presented by the Belmont County Veterans Association. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 20 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935, officiated by Fr. Thomas Marut. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
