Frank Romanoski Sr., 90, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed Thursday January 3, 2013 at the Welsh Home, Rocky River, Ohio. He was born in Wolfhurst, Ohio on January 2, 1923, a son of the late Antoni and Anna Yoka Romanoski. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, Ohio where he served as usher and counter; a surveyor by trade; a former member Benwood American Legion Post 46; former member of Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 180; former member of Colerain VFW; very active member of the former St. Ladislaus Church; organized Polish American War Memorial Association in South Wheeling; in charge of Polish Night at the Wheeling Riverfront; he loved Polish Music; organized Movie Night at Stone House Place; enjoyed facebook, chat rooms, and photography; and he was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Okinawa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Miroslaw Romanoski; brothers: Bruno, Joseph, Anthony and Stanley Romanoski; sisters: Mary Shingle, Ann Zombek, and Genevieve Smith. Frank is survived by a son Frank Romanoski Jr. (Debra) of Annapolis, Md., a daughter Loretta Mary Shaw (Joe) of Fairview Park, Ohio; a brother John Romanoski of Wolfhurst, a sister Rose Marie Zebreski of St. Clairsville; three grandchildren: Cynthia Singleton, Scott Romanoski, Tim Romanoski, and a great-granddaughter: Addison Singleton. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where vigil service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be held on Monday at 9:15am at the funeral home by VFW Belmont County Honor Guard. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday January 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, with Rev. John Mucha as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wolfhurst Volunteer Fire Dept. Offer online condolences at www.wilsonfuneralhomes.com
