FRED C. GROUX, JR., 77, of Martins Ferry, died Thursday, August 21, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born April 6, 1931 in Martins Ferry, the son of the late Fred and Hazel (Wagenheim) Groux, Sr. Fred was the former co-owner of the Keg und Kraut restaurant in Wheeling. He graduated from Martins Ferry High School and West Liberty State College and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Brookside, the Ohio City Lodge #486 F& AM, the Valley of Steubenville Scottish Rite, the Osiris Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters. Fred is survived by his wife of 55 years Julia (Montello) Groux of Martins Ferry; a brother Don Groux and his wife Kathryn of Martins Ferry and a niece Michelle Groux of Columbus, OH. In accordance with Fred's wishes, his funeral services will be private followed by interment at Riverview Cemetery in Martins Ferry.
