Fred Davis, Jr., 73, of Sherman Ave., Martins Ferry, OH went home to be with the Lord, Wed., June 22, 2005 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born Aug. 1, 1931 in Stewardsville, OH a son of the late Fred Davis, Sr. and Fannie Scarbough. He was employed as a meat cutter at Jacob & Sons Wholesale Meats of Martins Ferry for over 30 years. Fred was a Deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, and choir member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Bellaire, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years Odella B. (Turner) Davis, step-parents, grandparents, five brothers, two sisters, and father-in-law. Surviving are a daughter Kimberly Ann Davis of Wheeling and Randall Walker, fours sons Duane Davis of Martins Ferry and Tonya Pervall, Charles "Tubey" (Linda) Davis and Alvin Davis all of Bellaire, and Anthony Davis of Columbus, OH, four brothers, nine sisters, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sun., 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Friends will then be received Mon., June 27, 2005 from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM with Pastors Robert Ellsworth, Steven Cherry, and William Allen officiating at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Bellaire. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
