Frederick Graff, 88, of Indiana St., Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at home. He was born June 19, 1922 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Michael and Anna (Grodt) Graff. He was retired from the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Fred was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry, a life time member of the VFW Post # 4811, Yorkville, OH, American Legion #38, Elks Lodge #895 both of Martins Ferry, the former Eagles Aerie #456, Martins Ferry, Italian American Club, Elm Grove, WV, 200 Club, Wheeling, WV, and the Summer Dance Committee of Oglebay. He was also a graduate of Martins Ferry High School class of 1940, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Oswald, Alfred M., and William Graff, and two sisters Hilda Forbes, and Bertha Riser. Surviving are his wife Dorothy (Cerullo) Graff, a son Dr. Frederick M. Graff and his wife Kathy of Dublin, OH, and three grandchildren Jillian, Harrison, and Benjamin Graff. Friends will be received Sunday 12 - 6 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Phillip Van Dam officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Military honors will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10:00 am by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion.
