Frederick A. "Smitty" Smith, Sr., 61, of Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Sept. 10, 1949 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Richard H. and Ina (Marr) Smith. Smitty retired from Carson Petroleum of Hopedale, OH and was the owner of Smitty's and Lifelike Taxidermy. Surviving are his wife Martha S. (McBroom) Smith, two sons Fred A. (Jessica) Smith, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, OH and Dan (Lori McHugh) Smith of Marysville, OH, three daughters Becky Smith of Columbus, OH and Leigh Ann Smith and Amy Smith both of Martins Ferry, a brother Earl R. Smith of Colerain, OH, two sisters Betsy (Tim) Taylor of Bridgeport, OH, and Teresa Dripcheck of Martins Ferry, and four grandchildren Alex, Katlyn, Mason, and Carter Smith. Family and friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rusty Atkinson officiating.
