Garnet G. (Eden) Denard, 87, formerly of N. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at Heartland Lansing Nursing Home, Bridgeport, OH. She was born January 30, 1921 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late William "Will" R. and Mary "Mayme" (O'Conner) Eden. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry C. Denard, a daughter Patricia J. Stephens, two sisters Anna Schell and Bernadette Eden, and a brother John "Bud" Eden. Surviving are her sons Bill (Phyllis) Denard of St. Clairsville, OH and Bernard Denard of Cleveland, OH, a sister Martha (William) Snyder of Martins Ferry, a sister-in-law Wanita Eden, three grandchildren Susan (Ted) Hill of CA, Becky (Rogers) Clise of PA, and Chris Denard, a great grandson Michael Fusco, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Wake services will be recited Wednesday at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
