Gary H. Craig, 79, of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV. He was born November 29, 1944, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late Henry M. and Mary Ann (Sonk) Craig.
He was a retired Railroad Conductor for Norfolk & Southern Railroad Company, and a member of the Experience Church. He loved God, his country, the Pittsburgh Steelers, fishing, hunting and his Martins Ferry Purple Riders, he was never seen without his Purple Rider hat on.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Craig, and sister, Barbara McKim.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Goldie Craig; children, Joe (Jessica) Craig of Westerville, Gary Craig of Martins Ferry, Tammy Craig of Blacklick; grandchildren, Caleb (Rachel) Statler, Tanner, Noah, and Hannah Craig; great-grandchildren, Madeline, and Berkeley Statler.
In keeping with Gary's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935 is assisting with arrangements.
