Gazella T. (Czap) Burkle, 87, of Shadyside, OH formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Logan County, WV a daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Santavec) Czap. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Shadyside, OH, Wardah Hussim Temple #53 Daughters of the Nile, Ohio State Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the Martins Ferry Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John T. Burkle, Sr., a brother William Czap, a sister Margaret Slotwinski, a granddaughter Jamie Maguire Donovan, and a grandson Bradley Frohnapfel. Surviving are a son John T. (Pat) Burkle, Jr., of Shadyside, OH, three daughters; Mary E.(Jim) Maguire of Wheeling, WV, JoAnn Frohnapfel of Allison Park, PA and Cheryl (Jack) Schellenberg of Shadyside, OH, a brother Julius Czap, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of services at 2:00 pm with Rev. Karen Torrez officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.
